ICMAI Campus Placement is one of the main recruitment opportunities available to newly qualified CMA professionals. Conducted by the institute, the programme connects eligible candidates with companies hiring for finance, costing, accounting, audit, and related roles.
Although the process is structured, successful participation requires careful preparation. Missing a registration deadline, skipping a required training module, or attending an interview without understanding the role can reduce a candidate’s chances of securing an offer.
This guide explains how ICMAI Campus Placement works in 2026, including eligibility, registration, shortlisting, participating companies, salary packages, and interview preparation. It also provides a realistic view of CMA placement salaries so that freshers know what to expect.
CMA campus placement is a term-wise recruitment programme run by the Placement Directorate of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. Each exam term gets its own cycle.
Here is what the institute does and does not do:
That distinction matters. ICMAI opens the door. Walking through it is up to you.
Drives run in both online and offline modes, and a single city can host ten or more companies across two or three days.
Most students treat eligibility as one yes-or-no gate. It is actually three separate filters, and confusing them causes needless panic.

CMA campus placement eligibility at the first layer is fairly uniform. The second layer is where candidates differ widely. A PSU may cap age at 25 and ask for a first-attempt record, while a consulting firm may not care about attempts at all.
Always open the job-details PDF for each company before assuming you qualify. CMA campus placement criteria are published company by company, not as a single rulebook.
A separate track also exists for experienced CMAs, so members with a few years in the industry are not shut out of the ICMAI placement system.
The cycle is predictable once you have seen it laid out.

Two rules catch students off guard every cycle. Only shortlisted candidates are called to the venue, turning up uninvited does not help. Once you accept an offer, you are generally expected to stop attending further interviews in that cycle.
The recruiter list changes every term, but the sector mix stays fairly stable. Organisations that participated in the 2026 drives for the December 2025 term included:

Drives that season were held in Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Vijayawada. The confirmed list for your own term will look different, so check the official schedule rather than relying on an old blog post.
One honest observation from mentoring students through these cycles: the well-known CMA placement companies attract hundreds of applicants for a handful of seats. Mid-sized firms on the same schedule often hire more people, offer faster responsibility, and receive far fewer applications.
This is where expectations need a reality check. ICMAI's recent placement material has reported an average CTC of roughly ₹12–13 lakh, with the highest reported package touching around ₹36 lakh per annum.
Both figures are true. Both are also easy to misread.

A few points are worth keeping in mind about CMA placement salary:
Students who use the first two years for skill-building SAP, advanced Excel, Power BI, and deeper IND AS knowledge usually overtake their peers by year three. Starting salary is a beginning, not a verdict.
The CMA placement portal is where every part of the process is published, and most avoidable losses happen here.
For official schedules and eligibility documents, the ICMAI campus placement should be your primary source.
From years of guiding CMA students through placement seasons, the same patterns repeat:
If you did not get placed in one cycle, it is not a career verdict. Off-campus hiring for CMAs continues year-round, and many students who miss campus land equally good roles within a few months.
For CMA placement in India, the ICMAI Campus Placement programme remains one of the clearest entry routes into corporate finance. It gives you structured access to PSUs, listed manufacturers, banks, and consulting firms without cold-applying through a hundred job boards.
The students who do well are not always the rank holders. They are the ones who registered on time, prepared for the companies they genuinely wanted, and could explain their own numbers confidently in a twenty-minute interview.
If you are still mapping out your CMA journey choosing between groups, planning training, or deciding what to build alongside the qualification, a short conversation with an academic counsellor at IIC Lakshya can save you months of guesswork. Placement outcomes are shaped long before drive day.
