Registering for ACCA is the first concrete step toward building a global career in finance and accounting. While the registration process is fully digital and straightforward, unexpected delays rarely happen because of eligibility they happen because of minor documentation oversights, like a missing university seal, a grade card without raw marks, or slight name variations across your identity records.

Getting your paperwork verified seamlessly on the first attempt ensures you stay on track for your target exam session without facing unnecessary hold-ups. Below, we cover the essential documents required for ACCA registration, the current ACCA registration fee in India, realistic approval timelines, and practical fixes to resolve application queries quickly. Not sure where you stand? Our ACCA course eligibility guide will help you confirm your entry route first.

ACCA Registration Requirements: Who Can Apply?

Start here, because your entry route changes the list of ACCA documents for registration.

  • Plus Two students get direct entry with passes in five subjects, English and Maths or Accountancy included. You need 65% in at least two subjects and over 50% in the rest (DHSE, VHSE, CBSE, or ISC).
  • Graduates from BCom, BBA, MBA, or any other stream can register directly, and often claim paper exemptions.
  • Cleared a level of CA or CMA India? That can earn exemptions too.
  • Missed the Plus Two cut-off? Begin with Foundations in Accountancy (FIA), which has no minimum entry requirement.

Registration is only the start, though. The full ACCA qualification requirements are 13 exams (minus exemptions), three years of relevant work experience, and the Ethics and Professional Skills module.

Documents Required for ACCA Registration

ACCA's registration guidance is quite specific about academic records. Each mark list or certificate you upload has to:

  • Name the qualification clearly
  • Be signed and sealed by the board or university, with its official logo visible
  • Show subject or module codes along with your marks
  • Show when you completed the course, or which years you have finished
  • Come with the final certificate, or an official institutional letter confirming completion

Core ACCA Documents for Registration

Nearly every applicant from Kerala uploads these:

  • An official photo ID. ACCA accepts a passport, birth certificate, driving licence, or national identity card (Aadhaar). Most of our students use a valid passport or Aadhaar card.
  • Your Plus Two mark list and pass certificate (DHSE, VHSE, CBSE, or ISC).
  • For graduates, every semester mark list, the consolidated grade card, and the degree or provisional certificate.
  • CA or CMA India mark sheets, if you have cleared a level.

Some students also need name-change proof, or an official English translation of any non-English document, stamped by a licensed translator.

ACCA Documents by Student Stage

Your stage

What to upload

Plus Two passed

ID proof, Plus Two mark list, and passing certificate

Pursuing BCom or BBA

ID proof, Plus Two records, and all completed semester mark lists

Graduate

ID proof, Plus Two records, all individual semester mark lists, consolidated grade card, and degree or provisional certificate

A tip for final-year BCom students: degree-based exemptions usually need proof that the degree is finished. Many register on their Plus Two records now and claim exemptions after results come out. Our ACCA exemption documents guide explains what to send then.

Kerala-Specific Checks for Certificates and Transcripts

Kerala boards and universities use formats that sometimes trip up document reviewers in Glasgow. Check these points before you upload:

  • Grade cards without marks: Autonomous colleges and universities across Kerala (such as Calicut, MG, Kerala, and Kannur Universities) frequently issue CBCS grade cards showing only SGPA/CGPA or letter grades without raw percentage marks. Scan both sides of your card, since the grading-to-percentage conversion scale is usually printed on the reverse. If your card omits the formula, request an official percentage conversion certificate or marks statement from your college.
  • Pending degree certificates: Original university degree certificates in Kerala often take several months or even a year after convocation to arrive. In the meantime, upload your Provisional Degree Certificate issued by the Controller of Examinations alongside your consolidated mark list.
  • Name variations: Initials and family/house names frequently appear differently across local records such as "Ashik K" on the SSLC book and "Ashik Kunnath" on your passport. Register using the exact name sequence shown on your primary ID proof. When the variation goes beyond an expanded initial (such as an added family name or changed spelling), ACCA requires formal proof, such as an official Kerala Gazette notification or an affidavit.
  • Unsigned portal printouts: Mark lists downloaded directly from university student portals (like Pareeksha Bhavan) usually lack an official stamp or physical signature. Always upload an officially issued, signed, and stamped copy from your university or college principal.
  • Consolidated card only: Uploading just the final consolidated grade report is the single most common reason Kerala graduates receive follow-up emails. You must upload every individual semester mark list so ACCA assessors can inspect subject-wise syllabus coverage for exemption mapping.

How to Register for ACCA in India: Step by Step

The ACCA registration process in India runs fully online. If you are wondering how to apply for ACCA without missing anything, follow this order:

  • Check your likely exemptions on ACCA's official exemptions calculator.
  • Scan every document in colour as a clear PDF or JPG, ensuring all four borders, university seals, and signatures remain visible.
  • Open the ACCA online registration form on accaglobal.com and select India as your country.
  • Enter your full name and date of birth exactly as they appear on your ID proof.
  • Upload all documents in the same application. You can save your progress and return later if needed.
  • Pay the registration fee by credit or debit card. ACCA cannot process an application without payment.
  • Watch your inbox (including spam and promotions folders) and reply quickly to any document clarification request.
  • Log in to myACCA once your student registration number arrives, then view your official exemptions and book exams.

ACCA Registration Fees in India for 2026

ACCA charges every fee in British pounds. These are the current rates on ACCA's India fee page:

Fee

Current India rate

When it applies

Initial registration

£30 (standard £89)

Once, with your application

Annual subscription 2026

£140

Every year you stay active

Applied Knowledge exemption

£84 per paper

For each exemption awarded

Applied Skills exemption

£111 per paper

For each exemption awarded

Re-registration

£89 plus unpaid fees

Only if removed for non-payment

Keep these points in mind before you pay:

  • If you register early enough to be eligible for three or more exam sessions in that calendar year, ACCA also bills the first year's annual subscription.
  • After that, the subscription falls due on or before 1 January every year.
  • Your bank converts the amount at the day's exchange rate, so the final rupee figure fluctuates slightly. Most Indian cards also apply a standard forex markup.
  • Concessional rates can change at short notice, so verify the live fee page on the day you pay.

ACCA Registration Timeline: When to Apply

ACCA's published processing timelines are short, provided your paperwork is complete from day one:

  • Online form completion: about 10 minutes, once your scans are organized.
  • Complete online application: registration approval within 5 to 7 working days.
  • Documents or payment sent by email: around 10 working days from receipt.
  • Requests for additional information: approval stays on hold until you reply with the requested documents.

Your exam schedule matters just as much:

  • Applied Knowledge (BT, MA, FA):available as on-demand computer-based exams (CBE), meaning you can book and sit for them shortly after registration approval.
  • Applied Skills and above: held during four scheduled sessions each year (March, June, September, and December). For December 2026, standard exam entry closes on 2 November and late entry closes on 9 November.
  • Late entry costs significantly more: an Applied Skills paper costs £151 at standard entry in India, but climbs to £387 at late entry.

One practical rule we give every student: submit your registration at least three weeks before the standard entry deadline you are targeting. That gives you comfortable breathing room for any unexpected document queries.

Common ACCA Registration Delays and How to Fix Them?

Most stuck applications fall into a few familiar patterns. Here is what usually goes wrong and how to sort it out:

  • Blurry or cropped scans: Rescan in colour using a flatbed scanner or a dedicated scanning app, keeping all four corners, the university seal, and signatures in view.
  • Card declined at checkout: Turn on international online transactions in your mobile banking app, ensure your transaction limit covers the conversion amount, or switch to an enabled credit card.
  • Documents sent in pieces: Upload the complete set in one sitting. Piecemeal submissions restart the queue and trigger repeated review requests.
  • ACCA emails missed: Check your spam and promotions folders regularly and reply to any queries within a day or two.
  • Pending beyond 7 working days: Check your application status directly in myACCA, then contact ACCA student support quoting your application reference number.

Take a common case: a BCom graduate uploads only their provisional degree certificate and receives a follow-up query for semester-wise mark lists seven days later. By the time the extra scans are reviewed, the standard entry window has shut, leaving the student facing expensive late entry fees. Submitting the full academic dossier on day one prevents this entirely.
